Worst.Chore.Ever.

I am on my first day of a three day weekend.  It's a spring cleaning/party planning/get caught up on everything kind of weekend.  I have a second birthday party to plan for this month, a baby shower to plan in April, and a fourth birthday party to plan in May.  Plus, I want all my spring cleaning done by the time spring/summer actually roll around.  I want to spend as much time as possible outside with my kiddos soaking up every beautiful day we come across.   I'm taking a mini break from tonight's chore, laundry to bring you my most hated of all chores:  Folding Socks.

I give you Mount Sock-Suckous!

There are a million and one things I would rather do then fold those socks.  I wear my husbands socks quite often because he has more than all of us combined.  I've sent Brayden to pre-school with the socks with that weren't quite a match.  I've put snow boots on Emma because I couldn't find any socks period for her.  More often than not, when someone needs sock - they are required to go and find the sock pile and pull out a match.  When you have six trillion socks in the sock pile though it can get kind of difficult.    I need socks, the hubby needs socks, my kids need socks, and I also need my green basket back to store some downstairs toys in.  I'm going to do the grown up/good mom/good wife thing, and fold them.  Normally, I would go buy a new basket and put new socks for everyone on my Wal-Mart list.  Tonight, my kiddos are asleep - I've got wine on my side and I'm gonna become a sock foldin' fool.

And on a side note, specifically for my husband (who secretly reads my blog), a gift certificate to Merry Maids would be great appreciated for Mothers Day.

I'm off to fold socks - but I want to know - what is your most hated household chore?

  1. Haha Can really relate to this one. We have the infamous "sock basket" in our home too. Though I have to admit I have been super good the last 6 months or so with at least getting them paired/tucked together. They just don't ever seem to make it upstairs into dresser drawers.

The one chore I despise though would have to be dusting. Hate it. It's time consuming, never ending, and just so many other things I'd rather do than pick up and wipe off every single thing in the house. LOL

  2. John just said it best, "anything to do with cleaning." That pretty much sums it up.

If you want my advice about the socks. Buy all white in two sizes, small for the kids, big for you and Garry. Then they are easy to match. :) ha.

    2. Cathe,
You could make it a fun game out of it by mating up the socks the fastest.(OK who can mate up the matching socks the fastest? A Family Socks Game.

  3. I hate household chores! How's that? My favorite kid trend right now is mismatched socks! The fashion fairies are smiling on us, if only for a moment. I say this as I glare at my own very full sock basket out of the corner of my eye.

    1. I am way behind - I had no idea that mismatched socks were a trend until I read this/saw a girl at wal-mart today! YES!!

  4. I hate putting all the folded clothes away. I'm not even sure why but that for me is the absolute worst!

  5. I'm so glad to see that I am not the only one with a "sock basket"! We go through about oncea month and pair them up, and about every 6 months I throw out everything that hasn't been paired up! I have to agree with Heather though, I hate putting clothes away! I love laundry, but hate putting them where they need to be. Mostly because there is not enough room for them all!

Stopping by from Mommy Bloggers on FB!
